When a disaster strikes, such as a home fire or a large flood, the Red Cross is there providing assistance. Become trained in:
- Case Work and Assistance to Families
- Mass Feeding and Shelter
- Damage Assessment
- Disaster Health Services (RN, LPN, MD, EMT)
- Also associate with HAM Radio Communications and Disaster Mental Health
Armed Forces Emergency Services
The Red Cross provides a 24-hour a day communications link between military personnel and their families during an emergency. As a volunteer you would communicate emergency messages to the servicemen after hours.
Red Cross is the sole supplier of blood in Connecticut hospitals. Help at blood drives by becoming a receptionist, serving refreshments, or providing general assistance.
Health & Safety Services
Teach people skills that can help prevent an accident or save a life.
First Aid and CPR
Help us to provide tracing services and educate community members about International Humanitarian Law.
Medical Transportation Services
Drive people to and from medical appointments.
Answer phones, data entry, mailings, Food Pantry, Special Event Volunteers
